series: 26 July – 30 August
God has spoken a message. It’s a message for us. It’s a message for everyone. In this series we’ll look at a summary of what God says in the Bible. Simple truths which won’t drown those who are hearing about Jesus for the first time. Profound truths which nourish those who have been clinging to him for decades.
This series of talks with a dual aim: 1. helping non Christians among us understand the Christian message; and 2. equipping Christians to go from us more confident to explain the life giving message.

Box 1: perfect nostalgia
26-Jul (Revelation 4:11)
We’ve all met people who look back to ‘the good old days’. Things were better then. The Bible looks back to the beginning as the time when everything was just as it should be. Understanding the past changes the way we understand our lives today.
Box 2: present rebellion
2-Aug (Romans 3:11-12)
Someone is bound to look back to 2009 with nostalgia. But the reality is that life is hard now. We make it hard by the way we treat others… It is hard because of how they treat us. But, we’ve only got part of the picture if we don’t consider our attitude to God.
Box 3: future justice
9-Aug (Hebrews 9:27)
In our neighborhood and on the news, there are times when we want justice. We want change. Our desire for justice and change is only the beginning of an echo of God’s desire. He promises (and warns) that he will act.
Box 4: finished judgment
16-Aug (1 Peter 3:18)
Jesus’ life deserves a nostalgic review. His death was both a terrible crime and an astonishing display of love. Jesus died facing the judgment of justice. He did it for us.
Box 5: perfect ruler
23-Aug (1 Peter 1:3)
Jesus’ resurrection is more than a historical exception to the rule. He was raised to rule. There is no better ruler to submit to. There is no ruler who is less safe to ignore.
Box 6: today’s decision
30-Aug (John 3:36)
God’s message is not just information you can hear and ignore. It has consequences. It demands decision. A decision best made with a full view of the facts.
This series is built around the gospel outline Two Ways to Live.
